Outstanding Service and Food! For our evening meal, we made a reservation at the Grand Central Café Bar. We were intrigued by the pictures that we saw on their website. It is housed in an old bank - steeped in history right on O’Connell Street. Our server, Joseph, went out of his way to make us feel especially welcome and attended to our every want and need. He was truly the consummate waiter. My husband started with a Dubliner, 10-year old, Irish Single malt whiskey. Then, we enjoyed a bottle of Paul Mas Merlot – very smooth and drinkable. For our entrees, I had the Lamb Shank that came with mashed potatoes, carrots and broccoli. I just love lamb shanks; so, I was in my element. My husband savoured the Atlantic salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. We were intrigued by what we thought were onion rings, but turned out to be just fried onion straws. They were crispy and good. For dessert, he chose the Baileys Irish Cream Cheesecake. It was truly a decadent way to end a delicious meal! Our total bill was € 77.
